Hi Kara, I think you did a great job of answering Laurie’s email. You had lots of great ideas. I don’t mean to sound hyperreligious, but she may find some comfort in a mindfulness group or a prayer group. Many churches offer Bible studies or support groups. I know its helped me a great deal, but I also know it’s not for everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts.

In reply to Mary Anne Orr. Hi Mimi, you make a good point! Scott did mention his belief in energy in the universe - and that people have different names for that (some might say God, Source, etc). I think it’s about what brings YOU peace, and it sounds like you find peace when your life aligns with God and prayer, which is awesome !

I read this article by Scott and he makes very good points. However, nowhere does he mention a Higher Power, e.g. God. It took me a long time to fully trust God as my higher power, but after many challenges in my life, I literally had nowhere else to turn. For me, the way to inner peace is prayer-not rote prayer, but actually talking to God. It took a lot of practice and faith, but eventually it became easier to build that relationship. I don’t push my beliefs on people, but I do pray for them.
